
About the Role
Job Title: Dental Hygienist
Location: Fort Frances, Ontario
Job Type: Full-time
Dental Cleanings and Procedures: Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and assisting dentists during procedures to ensure patient comfort and efficiency.
Patient Education: Provide patients with detailed education on effective oral hygiene practices, preventative care, and maintaining optimal oral health. Address questions and concerns to foster better understanding.
X-Ray Imaging: Take and develop high-quality dental x-rays, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis while adhering to safety protocols.
Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment notes, x-ray documentation, and medical histories. Handle patient information with confidentiality and care.
Periodontal Care: Conduct periodontal screenings to assess gum health, detect periodontal disease, and implement appropriate treatment plans.
Preventative Treatments: Administer fluoride treatments and sealants to protect teeth from decay and erosion, educating patients on the benefits of these treatments.
Requirements
Licensed Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing
Experience: Previous experience in paediatric dentistry is preferred, with familiarity in orthodontic procedures a plus.
Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of dental software like Dentrix or similar platforms for patient records and scheduling.
Medical Terminology: Proficiency in dental terminology to facilitate communication and accurate documentation.
Customer Service: Strong focus on providing exceptional patient care and building positive relationships.
Work Environment: Ability to work efficiently in a team-based environment, adapting to varying patient needs.
Bilingual Proficiency: A plus for enhancing communication with a diverse patient population.
Additional Experience: Dental assisting experience is an asset for a broader skill set and better understanding of dental procedures.
